It would seem that my login and password dont work on the EA racing
page. I can edit my account with no problem, but when it comes time
to log in (with the latest patch) in NFS: PU, it comes back with a
LOGIN OR PASSWORD incorrect..
My guess is that my firewall is in the way. Which port should I open
up? Unless it takes a while for EA to process my login (I've
registered yesterday)

I had the same problem a while back, and the answer came from this
newsgroup: although you already have your login and password, you still have
to activate your online racing account by going to the 'add game page'. Just
follow the link below (you may have to copy/paste the whole URL in your
address bar):
