: tracks? This would ease the discussion. (Maybe Doug has such a list?)
All (most) of the corners are named in the manual.

No, I sent you a .PRF file for Mexico; I could do Imola though.
Maybe someone has a complete list of all the corner names of all the
tracks? This would ease the discussion. (Maybe Doug has such a list?)
Yes, specific details on specific corners are more appreciated, I've
noticed...

RA> Maybe it's best to post GPPerf .prf files, these tell you exactly

What are these???
RA> It's one of the greatest pleasures in playing the game to find it
RA> out yourself. Besides, everyone has his own technique, and thus also
RA> different setups. It also depends on the track how you drive. And
RA> further, the main secret in driving fast laps is a lot of practise!
RA> :)
It is a pleasure, and different techniques work for different people.
But knowing what others are doing, and how, would be interesting and
valuable. And you say it depends on the track.....well we all drive the
same tracks, and potentially have the same cars - so detailed
discussions about the specifics _are_ possible - that was my point.
Potentially more useful than general principles of car control many of
us know already
Cheers!

* RM 1.3 U0414 * In DoubleSpace, no one can hear you scream !
DG> There were descriptions of ICR tracks (at least the street circuits)
DG> in the OnLine Racing magazine which can be found at
DG> didnt.doit.wisc.edu.
I'll go back there and look.
DG> If anyone wants to write one or more track guides for F1GP/WC tracks

I hope they'll do this.

Go on then......any others? B-)

GD> >: Is there an FAQ or something similar as a guide to how to drive

GD> create one?
GD> Well, I'll describe how I drive Adelaide.
_THANK YOU!_
A brave man sticks his head above the parapet! B-)
This is just the sort of response I was hoping for. I'm off to practice
laps my own way, and then I'll go through your version - need to remind
myself of the details first before it'll gel together so I can comment
on your style of driving.
But generally - a collection of these as an FAQ seems like a good idea.
Or even if not collected, makes for interesting reading.
Cheers!

That's called "advertising deadline" Microprose probably promised the
software to be in by such and such a date, and that ad was placed months
ago. *then* the product got delayed.... sigh

A new FAQ is on its way; I'm hoping to post it within a week or two,
however, I need:
- More track guides! If it comes to it I'll write them myself, but
I'm not that fast. Rene? Doug? Ivanhoe?
- A convertor for RTF to plain text. I found one for Unix but I really
need it for DOS. Help!
- Any more rumors or news on version 2 of F1GP/WC.
- Someone to remind me where the "monza" crack can be found.
