I was at Best Buy last night and saw "NASCAR 2003 Season" for $9.99
Is that the full version of the game that everyone is playing and talking
about.
It is by Sierra.  I heard there is no 2004 coming down the road, that this
series is at the end of it's life?

Sorry for the stupid question, I play the Need for Speed and F1 games.

Sounds like the right one.  If you get it be sure to get the patch, so you can
use the add-on's (trucks etc.)  Patch is sure to be online somewhere....

Get it!

Papyrus' NR200x series is at the end of it's _commercial_ life as far as new
versions go.  However the latest patch opened up it's guts to the point
where there will be new tracks, etc... for basically ever.

Yes, I did go back to the store today and buy N2003 for $9.99 and I
downloaded all the add-ons too....

What is NASCAR 4?  Is that newer?  Different?

Thanks!

Gary

NASCAR 4 is actually several editions older than 2003.

The evolution was:

NASCAR Racing
NASCAR Racing 2
NASCAR Racing 1999
NASCAR Racing 3 (plus expansion pack, available as NASCAR Acceleration
Pack)
NASCAR Racing 4
NASCAR Racing 2002
and, finally (literally) NASCAR Racing 2003

Oh, BTW:

penpal of mine who was attending the U.S. Naval Academy.  Don't be
afraid to ask questions...who knows, somebody else might have the same
question!

thanks for the History....

I had the "50th Anniversary Edition", maybe it was NASCAR Racing 3 with all
the packs, but I never played it.... payed $40 new then sold it on eBay for
$5 recently.

N2003 works great on my laptop.  I need to practice though....

Thanks!

On a Laptop? eeww....
I like the idea of TV out on a 50inch screen in 5.1 Dolby Digital. But hey,
laptop is better than nothing. ;-)

Have you seen a laptop with a MVA display?  On par with a CRT.
