Videogames are not all that expensive in the scheme of things, so I will
certainly be buying this game as soon as it is released in the U.S., sight
unseen, just based upon the excellence of GP2. If I get burned (which is highly
unlikely)
I will not likely buy GP4, barring rave reviews, sight unseen. I have been
burned by inferior sequels, but I have wasted money far more often on impulse
buys, with great boxart and impressive sounding features, but no track record
to go by, which GP3 has in spades.
I expect it will be as good as GPL in adherance to accuracy of physics(whether
one prefers skinnier tired cars with no downforce is a matter of personal
preference) , and easily superior graphically and otherwise. You probably won't
find yourself spinning out in every other turn, but maybe that is not the true
standard of excellence in modern F1 simulations. MCM2 did not live up to my
expectations, but it still is an excellent game. I expect GP3 will be the same
as well, my desires will always exceed reality.

Thats just a stupid comment. The less people buy of simulations like gp3,
the less likely hood companies & developers will be willling to put time and
money into future simulations, but rather into better selling arcade games.

Exactly.

And who are "THEY" in "...after the hype THEY created over the past 4 years.."?

Exactly.

From what I have heard so far, GP3 will be more or less what *I* expected it to
be, and I will be quite happy with it it seems.

Because if you don't buy it legally you will be breaking the law

So in the meantime we  are supposed to supplement their income with products
that are not up to standards.  Sorry I don't agree with you.  When they create
something of value people will buy it hands down.

Yes I tried F1-2000 and I threw it away.  Gp3 is a better product than
F1-2000.  The more you play it the more I seem to like it.  Just disappointed
with the pixel graphics.  Weather effects are outstanding and enjoyable.  If
Gp3 had the graphics and tracks that F1 World Grandprix has it would be
amazing.  There is no product out their that can compare to the quality of
circuits like F1 World Grandprix has outstanding job by Eidos.

I cant believe you are saying such things about F1 WGP. Thats just a funny
arcade game (good for that, but definitly not realistic !).

Maybe GP3 will be better than F1 2000. I hope so and i expect so. But to
write down F1 2000 that fast is really strange. The tracks are very
realistic. Also the laptimes. Maybe you were not satisfied how it runned on
your system. I heard many complains about that, so if thats the case, thats
a pity. But when it runs, it runs really great. Again: give it a chance.

I personny find that F1 WGP (especially the braking is terrible) does not
belong in the list of SIMS. The tracks are not so realistic as you say.

Anyway, thats my opinion.

Yup, I was actually surprised by the lack of "official" hype. I mean we got
a press release a while back and about 5 official screenshots, nothing for 6
months, then a few ads and finally will be the release of the game, not much
hype by Hasbro at all at all at all.

Hi all
I have it on order only 20.99 and have no intentions of cancelling, If its
as good as GP2 with up to date graphics, that seems pretty good to me. I
never expected it to have the GPL - anything a real car does I do, just try
to catch me out- feel. I would just like a up to date distraction before GPL
completely takes over my Life.

Look forward to reading what you have to say.  I am not prepared to pre-
judge this game until the full version appears (then I'll say it's crap,
lol).  Even though I could buy it myself I would rather wait and see, or
read as the case may be.  :)

I'll tell you why. Simply because it was called GP3 and was
written by the legendary Geoff Crammond.

But to hell with that... I am waiting for an answer to my other
question about if you used the warez of F1 2000. Interesting
that you conveniently didn't reply.
