Rally problems....

Oh dear, just spent 45 on ths new game, and all I get to see is the intro
movie. If I escape it, the guru meditates, if I wait it out, it hangs the
machine.

oh well, let's hope their support-mail works, or I'm gonna have a fit
because they won't allow me to return the game......

You might be able to find an answer for the problem on the HighGear RC
Forum, I think I may have seen it discussed there :
http://forums.simracingnews.com/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topic...

Lots of RC discussion there, wish I could help you but unfortunately I don't
have this game yet, waiting for my copy to arrive from the U.K. to the states,
in the meantime I read that forum and try to avoid the temptation to "borrow"
a copy of an illegal version I tried at a friend's house, wish I had my RC
now, I don't want to spoil it with some illegal version, who knows how old
it is.

Anyhow, hope it helps.

Seeyas on the track.

45 - JESUS - I thought I was paying a bit much at 35 in ***
Megastore - Leicester...it was only 30 in HMV, Leicester. Where did you
buy, I'll know to avoid!!

45 ???

Where on earth do you buy your games Matt, OBS/Elkjoep ??? :-)

I seem to remeber something about desktop resolutions and number of
colors, it was eithe David F or Kenneth V who posted it I think, I can't
seem to find the post now though, hope you'll get it working, will be
very interesting to get your opinions about it

BTW, we charge only 32 here in our shop in Moss :-)

Matt - a few system details may help?

I had a similar problem with a system containing TNT1 & Voodoo 2 cards. By
default the system was trying to access the V2 not the primary TNT
controller and resulted in the exact symptoms you describe. The solution was
to use DirectControl (www.3dfiles.com/bgrsoftware) and set the system to use
the Primary Video controller - after that no problems (well apart from the
game itself - but that's another issue).

Spaceworld, Fredrikstad...

What? Which store?! What have you not been telling me! I want to take my
Saxo out in the forrest with an extra 150 BHP, throw it into a tree at 120
MPH and still use it to go to work the next day! :-D

Well, after a full install, the game works. Well, no, actually it loads. All
the menu items are white, no MIPs, so are all the cars. When I try to get in
the car, the***pit/scenery is gray/white, no MIPs here either, and it
freezes up.....:(

Ugh!

Yeah, sorry. I sent a huge mail to the Magnetic Fields Support crew with the
logfile etc. I'm running:
PII 333MMX, 128 Ram,
Diamond Monster Fusion II 16MB Banshee PCI (3dfx drivers, the diamond ones
kill my Paint Shop Pro!)
MSFF,
Creative Awe 64

BTW, no AGP card of course!

Erm, anything else I should include?

Thanks for any help! :-)

Serves you right then :-)

PC-Team i Moss, "used to be" Arctic Software Club

Hmmm, tried limiting the texture-memory on your Banshee ?, I seem to
remember this was a problem with GPL and some other sims with the
Banshee

If you don't get it sorted, let me know and we can arrange for you to
bring the "box" down to the shop one evening, and we can swap some
hardware around and see if we can find the culprit

45!!!! Blimey that's a bit pricey... I very rarely buy any software unless
it's a t EB as they're the only shop that do not quibble about returns and
they have an excellent best price guarantee. I recently went in ti purchase
a MS FF wheel and when I found that they had it priced for 129.99 I
informed them of a PC World Special offer of 99-99 nad they gave it to me
for that price without any problem :O))) I certainly wouldn't have paid 45
for R2000 though....

Matt,

Sorry, I've no idea if it's a Banshee driver issue - hope someone else can
help out.
