What does the Glide 2.53 patch do to GPL?

by Ryan Murra » Sat, 13 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I have a 300 mhz AMD -K6 with 3DNow!/ 64MB RAM / Diamond Monster II 12 MB
Video Card

What will this do to my GPL game? Improve it? When I race now I see that
more options are fogged out like Anti Aliasing...only in the rear view
mirror though. With everything else on I consistantly get 30 - 35 FPS
online....varies at different tracks.

Would it help? Hurt it? I am curious.

Thanks in advance,

Most people are using the 2.53 version to eliminate problems with GPL
and directx6 and 6.1, like the video freezing up, and other strange things
related to the video.
I suffered from the freezing nightmare and used the 2.53 version to
alleviate it, but since discovered that this was a heat related problem. I
stuck a fan on my Monster2 and now have no problems. I now use directx6.1
and overclock the card to 95.
If you are using a later version like 2.54 and have no problems then
2.53 will not change anything.
