Could anyone tell me how in paintkit I can take a picture in whatever format
(pcx.jpeg etc.) and use it as a decal in the paintshop.Any info whould be
greatly appreciated.

The decals are contained on a couple of pcx's in the paintkit
directory.  SCICON.PCX & SCICONB.PCX.  Just pull them into a paint
program and edit however you like.
