Rally Championship Problems

by Dean William » Tue, 18 Jan 2000 04:00:00

I had tried the demo, and it was fun, but it kept crashing all the time.  I
couldn't get it to make it through any stage...  I tried every combination
of settings I could.  I tried the Wheel/Joystick, I tried high res and low
res, I tried low quality sound and high quality sound.

I have a friend that has the retail version, so he lent it to me to see if
it made a difference.  It didn't.
The game crashes every time I play.  Most of the time it's the "Blue Screen
of Death", but on a rare occation it's a message box with what looks like
Stack and Registers values, with a "Guru" title.  I had suspected it was
SoundCard related, because some of the blue screens made reference to
SB16.DRV (or something like that)

I have downloaded and installed the patch.

My System?

PII 233, 64MB Ram
Voodoo3 3000
DirectX 7a
Sound Blaster AWE64

Can anyone shed any light?  One other thing... I have TOCA2, and it crashes
sometimes in the same manner.  But I have Nascar3, Nascar Legends, GPL,
SCGT, GP500, Viper Racing, IndyCar Racing and they are all file (which is my
way of ruling out DirectX 7a)

Thanks in advance,

Dean

Goto the forums on www.simracingnews.com and look through the FAQ on RC2000.
Or check the forum messages, the Guru error is well known and resolved.

Andi.
