Why would all of a sudden when i try to start gpl it goes
back to my desktop without starting, is there something
i don't know.

ok...sorry about that...what have you added lately? some programs install
older versions of dx and/or sound & video drivers. Make sure you have all
your drivers up to date.
Have you made any mods to gpl? make sure if you do...you always do ONE
thing at a time and back up whatever is gonna get changed first. Thatway
you can put it back.
as far as your paticular problem...I'm clueless.

Maybe it has been set to run 3dfx with no 3dfx card? Just a guess...

Check your app.ini file.

Set desktop to 640x480 256 color, if that works, you have bad display
drivers............. maybe :)
