Folks,

dummy user again. What exactly does this entail ? I use a joypad but
assume it's something to do with joysticks ?

Something to do with pedals. It means the brake and throttle are
on different axis (e.g. Y and Z), which in turn means you can brake
and accelerate at the same time. Essential for "proper" sims like
GPL and, er...

Cheers,
Andy

It's for pedals. Split axis uses two seperate axis, while combined
uses one for both gas and brakes.

Follow up question from dummy user number two (okay, I can drive - if you
wish to call it that - a simulated race car, just don't ask me to wrench
on it).  Can a TSW2 Cup wheel be made into a split axis controller?  If
so, how?

Not true I'm afraid. Rally drivers left foot brake a lot
while accelerating (explaining why would take ages,
but essentially it is to control the balance, and
therefore grip, of the car). I've been known to do it
in my (4WD) road car occasionally too...

You can get a split axis kit from Thomas Enterprises.
