DTM Challenge mod for NASCAR Heat

The DTM Challenge mod now available for download (the complete mod is
only a 6.8 MB file).  You can get it here:

The installer has been tested by several people, and it looks like it
works fine.  The physics are finalized, and the sounds are just the
stock NASCAR sounds (but they work okay, I think).  This is a fairly
simple mod based on the Mercedes-Benz cars from the 1994/95 DTM
(Deutsch Tourenwagen Masters) series, and the goal is to give people a
saloon car racer for the road courses.  I think you'll like it --
they're GREAT at Brno!

Also; there's a much improved engine sound for the DTM cars at:

It's on the files page; one of the nicest sim engine sounds I've heard, actually.  Don't know if it's right for DTM's, but it's just
sweet to listen to it climb through the revs.  It has nice pitch change and is one of the few that captures some of the exhaust
system resonance.  Think I'll go try it at INDY...

Awesome John,Nascar heat has so many mods and more coming out regularly its
like getting a new version of this fantastic game every week,keep up the

For some reason I didn't get your original post John, only saw it
after Ashleys reply. I'm very curious, time to dig up that Heat cd!
PS John, have you unlocked the pacecar in F1 2001? It's a blast to
drive the Mercedes around Suzuka!! (even more fun than the f1 cars
actually :)

I got to race for a couple of hours last night. Used the Road Atlanta
track. Love the DTM mod. Thanks very much for this as well as your
other offerings. Can't wait to get into Indy 2001.
