That's great news, did that come from someone at Papyrus? (Or are you
a Papyrus employee?)

Will Nascar2 support the ful resolution options of Voodoo2, 800x600
and SLI'd 1024x768? THAT would be cool, and probably WOULD get me to
run out and get a couple Voodoo2s.

OK, that's more what I expected. I'll be happy just to play N2 on my
3Dfx. I can wait a couple months to get my Voodoo2s anyway, as it
sounds like the price will be dropping a bunch (STB just announced
8/12MB v2 boards at $199/$249).

Though when GPL comes around, with 1024x768 resolution on 2 SLI'd
Voodoo2s possible, it'll be hard to resist at any price!

Excuse what may be a stupid question, but are you referring to 5th. March
or 3rd. May?

Hmmm, I guess he's located in the States, so it should be March 5.
(Damn, I really hope it's March 5 ;^) )

OTOH, is this really the 3Dfx N2 patch or did I missunderstand this
post?

It was announced by TEN on their newsgroup.  No, I'm not a papy employee
- just another user with his ear glues to the ground listening for any
news on the 3dfx patch.

I don't know, but I wouldn't doubt it.  I've been saying for two months
that Papy is probably waiting for the Voodoo2 to come out before
releasing the patch.  Maybe it's just coincidence that this timing theory
had come true, but it's been hinted that Papy was having problems with
the number of textures that N2 uses, and I'm sure that the Voodoo2 solves
most (if not all) of this problem.  As far as resolution, I don't know
(yet - grin).

March 5 (tomorrow).  Remember, this is ONLY the TEN enabler I'm talking
about - NOT the offline version of NR2.  TEN claims that papy will be
releasing the offline patch soon afterwards.

Dude...? hehe...Thats a good one. Please refer me to the part of my
post that states anything about it being too slow.

On the other hand  dude keep in mind that framerate preferences are a
matter of taste.

On one more hand Dude...Nascar 2 3dfx should have much better
graphics...and maybe you should consider dude that graphics might be
what Im waiting for....ummm.

Gee!!!   It doesn't look like 3dFX to me....looks more like rendition.
Some sauce?

I found the patch on the TEN website.  No mention of 3dfx.  Only
rendition.  Did we get some bad info here?

I was just repeating what I saw on the ten newsgroup.  They came back
later in the day and said that they would release the TEN enabler when
Papy/Sierra released the patch for the offline version.  Since that
obviously didn't happen (dammit), the TEN enabler also was not released
yesterday as originally promised.

However, TEN announcing that the 3dfx enabler would be released on a
specific date hints (to me, anyway) that Papy is real close to releasing
it.  Of course, this remains to be seen and is not to be misconstrued as
an definitive announcement from me, Papy, Ten, or anyone else.

Hmm between the choice of racing against AI or 20 human drivers, I think we
all know witch one we will choose.  Nascar2 is still after 1year and a half
the most perfect SimRacing title  ---> IMHO <----  .  F1RS and Gp2 are very
close. VERY.

Well, they are all equal, but the ability to race online the way Papyrus did
with the NROS make the Sim a step higher.  But I agree that when comparing
Gp2 to N2 to F1RS they are the 3 top notch Sims on the market presently.
