F1 Challenge
(An F1 title worthy of Sim status IMO)

Live For Speed
(Everyday cars and a Caterham-like, wanted a Caterham sim for a long
time, and still with time to develop *hopes for the same from its
community* *ducks and runs*)

Privateer projects
(netKar is my personal 'fave' And again with time to develop into
something great)

Nascar 2003 Busch Mod
(Great on the Small ovals which I didn't like in cup cars)

Nascar 2003 Trans-Am Mod
(Awesome once I figure out how to make 5th & 6th gear useable, gonna be
drift and floor-outta-the-corner fun wheeee!)

Nascar 2003 Truck Mod
(Reserving judgement, but willing to give it a try)

I'm actually gonna have to try and decide on one or two to master rather
than messing about with them all, but I cannot honestly remember being
spoilt for choice like this :)

So from voiced fears not many years ago about sim racing dying from lack
of development of titles we seem to have reached a self-sustaining level
of development *growth* for our hobby, which is a good thing in my book.

:)

Seem like a "lull" to me.  My Momo wheel and TSW pedals have been retired for about a year it seems...

I see that my efforts in this area have not been wasted :-)

However, I'm getting my AussieV8 sim now with the T/A physics and Stan
Allen's AussieV8 mod for N2003 :-)

I'm reserving enthusiasm for LFS for now.  The whole project was exciting to
me up to the point where, when the finally released it, they included the
worst, most troublesome form of copy protection ever conceived (Product
Activation).

I have purchased level 1.  Any further level purchases will depend on
whether that dreadful system is incorporated or not.

Just my opinion.  I'm not asking anyone to agree or disagree.

I dunno.  If F1C or GTR 2002 had multiplayer that was as good as Netkar or
LFS then I'd be happy but instead I'm sitting here desperately wanting to
join a league that doesn't involve ovals but they just don't exist.  I've
contemplated returning to GPL leagues but the game's just too dated after
playing the likes of GTR 2002.  LFS doesn't have enough tracks for a league
yet and when I join an online race, it's completely boring due to the lack
of damage anyway.  Maybe Netkar will be the saviour but it's still a long
way off reaching true maturity.

There's far too many crappy mods and season updates out there at the moment.
Simmers need to concentrate their efforts far more than they are now.
Servers for most games seem to be empty 99% of the time :-/

Enjoy it while it lasts.. Other than the Sim games mentioned,  PC games have
been completely SHIT this past while. Consoles are completely taking over...

There have been some great PC games this year, and there are some AAA
titles due out before the end of the year. This is the best year for
PC games I can remember.

There are a ton of great games coming out for PC in the next few
months.  Here are just the ones I'm looking forward to:

August:

Tron 2.0

September:

Rugby 2004
Nascar Thunder 2004
Jedi Academy
Tiger Woods 2004
Lock On
Halo

October:

XIII
Max Payne 2
Civ 3 Conquests

November:

No One Lives Forever 2 Expansion
Indycar Series
Xpand Rally
Knights of the Old Republic

December:

Deus Ex 2
Thief 3

More than enough to keep me busy until summer 2004...

I said "ones I'm looking forward to".

Not that it will be a bad game, I'm just not a big Half-Life fan.
I'll be pretty busy this winter with DX2 and T3 anyway. =)

I am not a big HL1 fan either, but HL2 will be a biggie even if it is
just an engine demo. I am majorly stoked for DX2 as well  :-)
