TNT2 for $93 !!

by 'John' Joao Sil » Sun, 13 Jun 1999 04:00:00

If you read my post you would have seen that I *did* call buy.com on the
2nd day and they told me on the phone that they had it in stock and were
shipping it to me right away, the 3rd day when I called them another
sales person on the phone told me they had been out of stock all week.
One of these two telephone sales people at buy.com was mis-representing
their stock status, one way or another one of them is either not telling
the truth or is not skilled enough at their job to find out the true stock
status, either way it makes buy.com inferior to other online retailers.

Again, no-one is telling you not to shop with them, if you like being
treated like that then go right ahead and keep shopping with them, my
post was meant only to warn other online shoppers like myself that don't
want to have headaches when ordering. Personally I've had terrific online
ordering experiences with other online retailers including mwave.com, necx.com,
800.com, reel.com, dvdexpress.com etc. so personally I have no need to put up
with buy.com's hassles, when I can get good prices combined with good service
from better retailers.

Anyhow, I didn't want to start some huge argument or tell everyone not
to shop there, just pass on a warning for the more discriminating online
shopper.

Take care.

Seeyas on the track.

Well John; I wasnt trying to argue{it isnt my nature}but just state my point
of view also! I did mention in one of my replies that we're all just sending
our own personal subjective comments/opinions. no more, no less..
If it seemed that I was argumentative or harsh I apologize. All arguments
are always un-productive!! I read what you say below and understand!!
I think maybe buycom might be expanding too fast & the new help may
be a "bit" inexperienced now! With this I agree.. Again; I'm sorry about
the mis-understanding!!
Cheers Thom_j.

Hi Thom, no prob,

Actually I'm glad you *were* giving your opinion, it's good to know that not
everyone has problems with buy.com like I did, gives me hope that they will
improve so that everyone can have a good experience with them.

As far as the thread being argumentative don't worry about it, sometimes it
is hard for us to express our opinions clearly in text and respond without
accidentally making it sound harsher than we meant, that is one of the
difficulties of communicating on USENET. We just have to keep that in mind
and also to realize that many times in these types of discussions there is
no *one* right conclusion, some of us had good experiences with buy.com,
some of us had bad experiences, the important part is that we hear about
people's experiences with them, in this case we know that both good and
bad orders can happen with buy.com and to keep an eye out for it.

Take care and don't worry I wasn't taking it as a personal argument :-)
I learned (the hard way) years ago not to take anything on USENET too
seriously, it is very easy to find yourself involved in a heated argument
about nothing in particular before you even notice it.

Try a search on pricewatch.com.     There are lots of sources for OEM
16Mb TNT2 cards - from more reputable suppliers than buy.com, too.

Well John; Ironically {to me} it seems that we agree more than disagree!
Yes it is hard to put your thoughts into the "written word" & also I am no
English major! ;O) So what I might say isn't always the exact expression
I want to convey.. Ya Know?? Take Care..
