N3-Why am I so slow online?

Maybe someone out there can explain this. I have spent a lot of time tuning
my car to make it faster. Example--at Taladega I can run a consistant lap
average of 201mph, hitting 212-213 at the end of the back straight. I go
online to try my luck and I'm lucky if I can hit 196 on the back straight.
It doesn't make any difference if the host has a fixed setup or not. After
three laps the leader is 10 seconds ahead---bullshit. What the hell is going
on? Are they cheating? How come my setups don't work online? Am I doing
something wrong? Thanks

Use the Force, TheForce.  Eh ok seriously...

Have you tried recalibrating?  Do you use any driving aids in-game?  From
what I see, you are racing offline without any restrictor plate.  Talladega
races on WON is mostly restricted races.  Do you loose the draft?

how hard it is to put up with all the idiots in the world.

Ok, I know exactly, with the speeds ur hitting, talking 212 consistant, by
some chance, might you be running non plate or arcade mode during single
race mode?  Because to my knowledge, in the draft in simulation mode with
plates, the best one can do as top speed at the end of the stretch is
roughly 206 in the draft, can vary, but not too much.

I would venture to guess that you are correct and he is running in arcade
mode

I think with nonplates he would be hitting 220s at the end of the
backstretch
