Moving the brake bias back will allow you to steer *more* under braking, but
once the tires are locked I say hello to the walls at Desert Speedway ;-)

Be sure to install the "Advanced Options" program, rrevved suggested, and set
it to Pure Simulation.

SCGT .. some problems...

Hi all,
I've bought SCGT and have a few minor problems, the frame rate seems to be
very stuttery especially with FF switched on and the realism patch set to
simulation.
I am running on a P2 333 oc to 375, 128MB RAM, 12MB Creative Labs Voodoo2,
and MSFF wheel
The graphics are set to medium except track on high and in 640 x 480
I am using Glide 2.53 and DX 6.1 on Win 98
If I turn the FF off the framerate gets a lot better but still I have some
slowdown.
Can anyone offer any advice??

On an unrelated point, anyone noticed that the cars still steer with the
wheels locked up ?? feels kind of strange to me :)

Thanks in advance

Somewhere in the readmes it mentions that framerates will suffer when FF is
used.  They claim it is a hardware issue.  I have a MSFF wheel and I enjoy good
FF, but the degradation to the appearance of the game is annoying enough that I
leave the FF off.

I have a P2/450 oc to 504, 256MB RAM and a V3/3000 AGP.  It ain't your hardware
:o)

I have everything set to high and 1024x768.  I do leave the mirrors off for the
most part, too. (unless I am in heavy traffic)

I think it's just in the game.  Have you tried running it in D3d instead?  I
also noticed that the level for the car detail makes a sizable difference in
framerate.  Maybe try knocking that down a notch?

Some of the basic cars have ABS standard and I think you can buy it for most of
the others.  That would cause a car to do that in real life (though supposedly
preventing lockups)

Thanks to all who replied :)

I have tried with the  FF off and that does improve things, also if I turn
the advanced options back to original that also improves the framerate but
loses the feel of the driving.
If I run it with pure simulation the framerate does slow a bit but is
bearable, but on some tracks with FF the game seems to be down to about
10fps (any way of checking ? )
I guess I'll have to lose the FF.

This game seems a bit processor heavy :)

Can I run D3D on my V2 ? it defaults to the ATI card when I select D3D at
the start screen.
