GPL install problem...

by Craig Lindr » Sun, 04 Oct 1998 04:00:00

Just bought GPL but I'm having problems getting it to run.

During setup, when it tries to install ActiveMovie, I get a dialog box that
says the current version being installed is older than my current version.  It
says I have to uninstall my current version for the setup to work.

The install continues ok, and I restart my computer.  Unfortunately, when I
try to run the program I get an error message.  It says :  "GPL caused an
invalid page fault in module GPL.EXE at 0137:004baecf."

Would the ActiveMovie problem cause this?
Why is the install program asking me to delete a newer version in favor of an
older one?

How do I uninstall my current version of ActiveMovie?

Thanks in advance.

The active movie error is nothing to worry about and has nothing to do
with the game itself.  What are your system specs?  You wouldn't happen
to have a Cyrix 6x86 would you?

My specs are:

P2-266
64 mb ram
Voodoo 2
24x cd-rom
4mb Jaton 2d card

It actually loads past the 3dfx spinning logo to the first screen.  Then a
second later I get an invalid page fault.  I think this is something I should
take up with sierra tech support.
