Seriously.. do you really expect Crammond has the guts to come out of

Hey,

although GP3 had a few 'unusual features' in terms of game engine, it is
a very good and entertaining racing sim, and the only F1 sim on the
market that actually produces any usable FF effects. Plus, the rain
races are simply awesome. It may not be the last word in racing sims,
but I don't think the authors have anything to be ashamed off.

Hey, I was just kidding Gregor. Actually, while writing that, it came
to my mind that you liked GP3 :)
For me GP3 was a huge letdown and still is. The rain was superb, but
F12k and especially F1CS with the chassis patch gave me a much better
feeling of racing in an F1 car.
And I'm looking forward to F1RC, I love the demo.

Wouldn't that be Grand Prix 2.6?

For me , GT3 is the one I am most interested in getting in addition to WSC, but
I know that alot of people in this newsgroup pretty much dismiss all future
console racers as automatically being arcadish, regardless of their actual
qualities.

Thanks Cinquo for the link.
At least it looks good. We'll have to wait for the physics...
I have some hope too, because it's being made by Finns. And Finns know A LOT
about rallying!! :))

In all probability, the best of the bunch by far will be WSC.

I think it's only penned in for Q3 though.

Just have to answer this..

TRUST ME, the physics modeling is gorgeously made. Watching the car
trundle across a ditch/rough terrain/whatever looks and feels very
realistic and natural concerning the chassis action. Hard landings from
jumps makes you gringe from empathy towards the car.

Sorry, can't tell any details, no matter how much I'd wish to. Publisher
told us to keep our lips sealed about any details - for now, anyways...
;-)

p.s. .. And no, my relationship to Bugbear doesn't affect my opinion
about this game. It's a sight to behold :-)

I think it looks great. Not every sim coming out has to have accurate
handling. Sometimes it's fun just to take a drive in the countryside and
look at beautiful scenery. Fast, gorgeous graphics go a long way to the
enjoyment, and good online play brings even more. The added realistic
physics model is a plus.

So, what's the expected release date?

I'm with you.  Skip Barber and WSC are probably the only two racing titles I'll get
this year.  Hopefully Ratbag will do some asphalt stock/modifieds and then the stock
car career 'ladder' will be developed.  Oh, add the paved sprints as well (for the
USAC fans...).  Then a F3 / F3000 label and the open wheel ladder will be complete as
well.

Really?  What about the Toyota Atlantic, Barber Dodge, and Indy
Lights?
not to mention......................CART!!!!!
(and that other series that only turns left....)

I'm sure you are right about some.  I bought a PSX for GT (and then GT2) and
consider it well worth it for that.  But I'm not too sure about GT3 and the
PS2.  From all I've read, GT3 seems to be a graphics update (great!), but less
cars, less tracks, and (as far as I've read) no addressing the aspects that I
think could be improved with a more powerful console: better AI, more AI cars,
a dash.  Meanwhile, I'll play F355 Ferrari Challenge on my ($80) Dreamcast.

Pack to PC's...
So, it's official that Skip Barber Racing is canned?
