I shift at nearly every track that I don't have a loose car at. I
usually set my car up tight. On some tracks I just can't get rid of the
looseness coming out of the corners. Like say at Bristol. For the
first 10 laps or so after a restart, I don't shift. The decrease in
torque helps to keep the car from getting loose. Once the tires start
to stick, I start shifting. There are a few other tracks that I do the
same thing at. Martinsville is definitely not one of them. I only get
loose once my tires start to wear out.
I hope NCR 2 simulates air density. It shouldn't be too difficult.
Especially if they don't allow it to change during the race, which I
hope they do. No track stays the same from start to finish. Even
Sprint races change and they are only 10 laps. It's amazing how much
*** can be put down on dirt.
