Just a thought:

For once at Talladega on Hawaii it would be nice to see everybody
stay in line for the first few laps instead of having guys 5 wide by turn
one on the first lap.  This will probable never happen, but it would
reduce accidents(incidents on your record!) tremendously.  If everybody
drafted we could have full fields crossing the line after the first lap.
Imagine that!  This is not limited to newbies.  I've seen people rated
as 7's & 8's cause stupid, idiotic wrecks.  Can't we all just get along!

I agree...
And at the same time, I do not want to give up the draft. If I am .3
behind the leader and someone sticks his nose on the inside of me
going into the tri, it is a bad situation.

It is clear that people should not stick their nose inside someone
going into the tri.  But if they do, it is a no win situation.  If you
lift and let them by, you might lose the draft and not wreck.  But
they might wreck you anyway.

Papyrus could go up on the penalty for incidents....
But people would still "go for it".

I'm a skill level 9 on Hawaii.  But not for long.  Last night was
wreck after wreck after wreck....Some I caused.... Sorry egiles and
'88.   Some found me....  Can't we all just get along!  Also, two
"lost connections" while racing.   A bad day...

Would be nice wouldn't it? It'll never happen in a pickup race, there's no
incentive for them not to try it. That's why I've quite racing pickup races
and especially Talladega pickup races. Besides, it's a lot more interesting
to run the longer races where pit strategy comes into play.

Someone once suggested to me that the system should be set up such that if
you wreck, you wouldn't be able to enter a race again for a couple of days.
It seems to me that would probably eliminate most of the stupidity.

I agree...that green flag drops and man..if you don't have fast gears they go right
for the bumper and through you.

The only problem I see with that suggestion is that everyone will be paying
for access to the service, and if they're paying, they can't be banned from
racing for even an hour.

You're right, capitalism at work. <g> It was worth a thought, however.
