Couldna said it better myself. I hope the future of this hobby/sport
doesnt detain us to racing
Artificial Intellegence all day, the future should obtain INTERACTION!!
Without this it will only dry up into
video and arcade games! Geoff did you really think we would buy this
unacceptable modem link, well sad to say most of us did, because of
false advertising!  THANKS!!   -DG

With all the slagging off and defending of GP2 you cannot get away from some
facts. I play GP2 every weekend and Indycar 2 over the modem with a friend a
hundred miles away. On my 166 4meg Matrox MGA I can run Indy with everything on
and am hardly aware of the other machine being there (except in the more exiting
races of course). Even the replay records most of the race.

This morning I dropped to 26th from 1st due to sliding in to a sand pit because my
controls just don't seem to register properly. I also have to turn virtually all
textures off and still get 130 occupancy whether I connect at 19200 or 28800.

The box says 'Modem play'. This is hardly play is it. More like a nightmare trying
to match your best single play times in ssllooww mmoottiioonn.

The fact is the box is spinning yarns. In any other industry this would be
illegal. Its such a damn shame because it is the best F1 game there is and at the
moment the only decent choice.

Come on Geoff, stop being so protective, put some programming out to third parties
who can do a modem option that works within 3 years. Concentrate on the bits of
the game only you are good enough to do.

Try working in the commercial bespoke software industry sometime. If you
start talking to the software houses with views like that you'll get
fleeced ;-)

Maybe I'm prepared to be less critical of Microporose in this area
because I'm used to dealing with software houses and Microprose _have_
delivered what was promised - it's just that it hasn't exactly come up to
people's expectations :(

Seconded. Geoff has produced a great sim with great graphics, a superb
driving model and the most "intelligent" AI to date, but he does seem to
lack the art of delegation. If only he had headhunted one of the NRL team
from Papy....
