GP2 and T2 Calibration

Jay,

I run GP2 from Win98 without problem. You just have to make sure that you
only have 1 active game port on your system while you do it. If you have a
joystick port on your sound card and a USB joystick for instance, you'll
have trouble. Unplugging the USB device will solve that one though.

GP2 and T2 Calibration

I recently upgraded my system to include a Hi-Val/Kenwood 40x40 CD ROM, as
Windows98 wouldn't support my old SCSI 6X NEC CD Rom....

After installing I tried to run a few of my older sim's with quite a bit of
luck, until I ran across GP2

For some reason I can't seem to calibrate my T2 with this game worth a $hit!

I've selected using both x and y axis as joystick A, but when I get to the
calibration screen it jumps around like crazy and I can't seem to be able
control moving the "cursor" left  to right, and up and down properly.

I'm not sure if it's win98, the T2 (which has clean pots as of about 1 1/2
months ago) or the CD Rom or what ?!?!?

Anyone else have problems with GP2 ????

Thank you in advance for any and all help....

Jay,
If T2 is a digital joy stick it will not work. GP2 support analogue joy
sticks.

Regards
Andrew

Wayne, thanks!

That did it!

I didn't have a USB "Joystick" but I did have a USB Scanner plugged in...
After unplugging it, the calibration screen was rock solid, and I was up and
running hot laps at Monaco in no time!

Somewhere buried in the readme.txt is mention of the T2.con that is on
the CD (GPSAVES folder?).  Anyway find it and copy it to your GPSAVES
folder on your harddrive.  Select this one for your set up in GP2.  Also
make sure you chose "controller driven" (or something like that) when
you try to calibrate your wheel.  Thrustmaster also has some tips on
their website

Since GP2 is a pure DOS program, how one has their Win98 controllers
setup will have not affect.  You can even have "none" as your installed
controller and GP2 will still work.  The only part that is important is
to have the gameport or soundcard configured properly.
