GPL fans, there is a new star in your firmament. I wish to announce that I
have a new lap record round the Nurburgring. Thanks to avoiding a single
Shift/R and spinning only once I have posted 8'59.55" and managed to finish
a 4 lap race against the AI in 7th place. One of the other laps was under
10'00"  too,  a barrier I only broke just before Xmas. I think if I forgo
the picnic at one of the many beauty spots around the circuit then I may be
able to improve my time further, although I'm not sure if I can go that long
without a meal.

My thanks go to Ricardo Nunnini for his Lotus set-ups, my
manager, my personal fitness trainer, my sports psychologist (essential for
"getting in the zone" before a race), my wife for her support during the
last, difficult, year and to all
my supporters. To Sierra I wish eternal damnation for developing an
incredibly frustrating program which has cost me a new PC and on which I
have wasted far to much time to so little effect over the last 15 months or
so.

EldredP, I'm on your tail.

LOL!
Tony, although I finally broke 11 minutes, it was only 10:37.  In other words,
you're a minute and a half in FRONT...<g>
Oh wait - you meant you're on my tail to LAP me? :-)

Never argue with an idiot.  He brings you down to his level, then beats you
with experience...

Yeah

I've spent most of the Christmas holiday trying to get my Cooper round in
under 9 mins, and I'm glad to say I am now the proud owner of a shiny new
8:54 PB at the Ring.

I shall now retire for some well earned rest.

8.54? Oh ***. It's back to the Ring then. Maybe I can do a lap without
spinning.
