I would suggest that Terry's boss does enjoy his presence at work.
Maybe not in the same way as we enjoy Nascar, but in the financial
sense. Don't the laws of capitalism require his dismissal if there is
no marginal utility?

I think you are right. They need to do all these things and some more

Mike- Perhaps Terry is a union employee?  Or perhaps Terry is tenured?  Or
perhaps Terry is related to the owner?  Ever think about that, Mike?  Don't
get smart, any fool can find error in any argument.

Mike- My position is as such:  Chances are that Nascar2 will not be able to
run on my computer because its not a 133 Pentium or better.  That's why I want
a patch for Talladega.  I have NO problems with Papryus making money, we are
indeed in a capitalist society (yes, I'm a poor Republican).  I am willing to
pay money for the patch.  But I think it should have been included in the
Track Pack since its been only a year since it has been released.  But now
Papyrus is issuing Nascar2 which is the patch that should have been in the
Track Pack.

BTW- I don't have anything against Terry, he simply stated an opinion that
added to this discussion....

It is obvious that both Daytona and Indy will be included
with NASCAR 2, either in the original release or in an
additional track pack. That is why the track pack for ICR1
was discontinued and why they are threating legal action
against anyone releasing a Daytona track. Remember, NASCAR 2
will be sanctioned by NASCAR itself. There is no way they
would leave Daytona and/or Indy out of the package.

It's not that obvious to us, Chuck.  Daytona seems to be a logical
choice to put in NASCAR 2, but Papyrus is still unsure if the owners
of the Daytona trademark will switch the license to them when Sega's
expires.  THEY are not threatening legal action; Daytona is.  Also,
NASCAR does not own the Indy trademark, so you'd have to ask Tony
George about that.

Enough with this Oliver Stone crap.  You actually believe Papyrus is
trying to dupe us into believing IMS and Daytona aren't going to be
included?  Are you saying they're manipulating the market like you
suggest?

No wonder Ed and Rick are starting to get frazzled.

REALLY?  Then why wasn't Daytona included in the original version of NASCAR
Racing and the Track Pack?  NASCAR approved the original product, but the
Daytona track itself has control over the use of its name and likeness.
So, it's entirely up to Daytona, NOT NASCAR.  I would not be at all
surprised if Daytona is not included in NASCAR 2.

In addition to Kirn's post, Indy is NOT Nascar, and you'll have to get
IMS approval (Tony George of IRL fame), not Nascar.  I doubt you'll
see the Brickyard unless Sierra/Papyrus has done some talkin' to the
right people in Tony's kingdom.

From what I heard, the carsets are incompatible between NASCAR 1 and 2.
They are providing a lot more surface area for painting.

If you read their press release, they say you can race on 16 different
tracks - same number as we have now - not all 18.

Hi,

I'm new to the newsgroup.. only just discovered it existed!

I heard something about a Nascar 2 . I'd like to add my own input to
what I'd like to see improved..

Paralax Sky ! Clouds etc..
Digital SPEECH PLEASE! Pit crews telling you stuff. Telling you how
many laps left.. telling you to pit soon, telling you everything! IN
fact how about words of encouragement! Like "Your doing great!"

But just like Falcon 3.0 I want tonnes of different possibilities for
Digital speech for one particular event - so not just the same voice
saying in the same tone - "One lap to pit"

I'd like to hear them tell me how people are running ahead of me etc,
of they've got problems, or behind me, if someone is gaining in the
field!

Thats the main improvement I want from Nascar 2 ...

I would also like the VR aspect, but you guys were already talking
about that..

Sure! and how about (when you're black flagged for speeding in the
pits, the voice telling you (after 2-3 laps of ignoring the flag)
"Come on in.  You know, you can't argue with these guys!"  :D

They're not bugs!  They're random features!
