I am pleased to announce that as a part of SSCRA, the United Shorttrack
Alliance will begin its 1998 season April 12. For you short track drivers,
this series will cater specifically to you. All tracks are between a 1/2 mile
and 3/4 mile; none of this 1-mile stuff. There are several new tracks we'll
be racing on. These include the BB&B tracks, and the new N2 tracks like
Nashville and Hickory.
The World Series of Internet Short Track Racing will take place from
February 6 through 14. See
http://www.racesimcentral.net/;
There are three divisions for the World Series.
We'll have three divisions - N1 Limited Late Models, N1 Modifieds, and N2
ASA cars. The Limited Late Models will run a "390 carburetor" (restrictor
plate); the Modifieds are open, and the ASA cars are open. The Limited Lte
Models will run a "forced" setup.
What other changes are in store? You will get to set your own opponent
strength. This will allow you to race at your ability, not the series'.
Also, we'll be running qualifying sessions in 1998, where we didn't do so in
1997.
I'll be taking sign-ups shortly; the Web site is in the process of being put
up. Meanwhile, you can check out the "preview" at
http://www.racesimcentral.net/
If you're interested in running, please e-mail me with your name, car number
(which may get changed if I have duplicate numbers - you will be notified),
chassis, hometown, and e-mail address.
