IWCCCARS

It appears that Tony's departure from IWCCCARS means that we can no
longer expect prompt updates to the site.  I apologize for being a bit
blunt, but it's been far too long since the site has been updated,
especially with new cars for NASCAR Racing 2.  I've had to search
dozens of other pages to find cars like the 1996 Kyle Petty #42 Coors
Light Pontiac and the special edition #29 Scooby Doo/Cartoon Network
car driven by Robert Pressley.  IWCCCARS has done some fantastic work
in the past, but I can't help but be discouraged by the lack of recent
updates.  It seems that the very prompt updates and great car designs
that were appearing at IWCCCARS came to a screeching hault at the time
Tony left.  Am I being too cynical?

Believe it or not, there are many cars currently being worked on.  No
new updates have been posted, mainly because of the search for a new
server (we have since found a new home).  Once Dave Sparks gets settled
in, expect the site to transfer with new material.  Please be patient,
there is quite a bit going on.

I would tend to think so.  Remember, Tony and the rest of IWCC receive
NO compensation for this.  It's all "Free".  So as long as it's free,
you really have no room to complain :)

No your not being to cynical, but you have to realize you could be jumping
the gun a bit, it can take awhile to get the ball rolling after the head
guy leaves. So give it time like a few months to see what happens... maybe
tony will convince papyrus to release update packs.

Kirn --

You need to understand that this whole thing with me moving to Boston
took everyone by surprise.  David and the rest of the team are working
their tails off to get the site switched over, and they have at least
10 cars (that I know of) ready for release once that's done.

As far as cynicism goes, I think I spoiled everyone by devoting a
large portion of my personal time to doing IWCCCARS every day and
updating every couple of days.  You must be aware that none of
IWCCCARS is done for compensation -- therefore, it has to get done in
spare time, which not everyone has.

The new site should be up on the 7th.  The new cars will be posted
once David settles in and figures out what's going on -- I fairly
dumped the site in his lap with little or no explanation.  Give them
time to get settled.

Oh know IWCC hasn't updated in a few days!  What to do?
Well you have a few options, you can sit around and race on the already
full set you probably already have, or go looking at other quality sites
for good NASCAR 2 cars.  IWCC is a good site, but there are plenty others
out there that are good as well.  I have my own site and have been working
far to ***m it for the past few days.  So while waiting on the IWCC
update, you can go to my site and pick up the 1996 Coors Light Pontiac, or
the Robert Pressley #29 Scooby Doo.  I am also working on the Terry
Labonte Iron Man, The Ernie Irvan Japan, the 1997 Bill Elliot, and a few
others.  I am also taking requests so feel free to let me know who you
want.  I especially Like Special Edition cars.  So while the IWCC Project
is switching homes, go ahead and check out Alex's NASCAR Pit Shop.  Some
major things are going to be happening over the next few weeks so be sure
to stop by.

Kirn,

I appreciate your concern. Tony has been way too busy packing up for Boston
to do anything with the site lately. I just took over the job as Project
Coordinator as of January 1, so I'm still trying to figure out which way is
up. While I already know a lot of the team members, it's going to take me
some time to establish the kind of rapport with them that Tony has built
up.

If that didn't complicate things enough, we're in the process of moving the
site, thanks to a generous offer from Jan Kohl and the US Pits, who will be
hosting IWCCCARS in the very near future.

I can tell you that the team is very hard at work on NASCAR 2 cars, and
I've got about a dozen new cars ready to go up on the new site once the
move is complete. Kyle's '96 ride is definitely in the mix, plus the Silver
Anniversary #2 and #43 cars, an update to the #23 and the #99. Also, Jeff's
been busy working on Nostalgia cars, including Neil Bonnett's '93 ride.

Tony set a very high standard with his work on the site in the past, one
that will be a very difficult for me to match, but I'm going to give it my
best shot. With any luck, the site move will be completed this week, and
you'll start to see the new cars right after that. I'll keep you all
posted.
