GPL---control assignments--no brake

I just installed GPL--with 1.2patch and D3D patch---
I cannot assign the brake pedal to act as the brake...oh..I have an Interact
V4 Force wheel with brake/throttle. I have not applied the FF patch yet.
The throttle maps fine, as do the other buttons--tried using brake pedal as
clutch--no good with that either...
The pedals work ok with numerous other games.

couldn't it be a 2 axis 3 axis problem ?

not sure if I understand that....although it appears the brake/throttle
pedals both use the same axis somehow--in control panel/game
controllers/propertires, the x in the test box moves up with the throttle
depressed, and down with the brake depressed, all on the y axis. The wheel
moves it on the x axis.
In GPL, axis 0 is steering, axis 1 is throttle, although if I use the brake
pedal it will map to axis 1 as the throttle. So I guess that's the
problem...the wheel/pedal combo uses 2 axis, which cannot be split for GPL.

In other games, however, it is possible to use both throttle and brake
pedals, so I have to assume this is a problem with the way GPL maps the
controllers...is there a patch for this ??

You seem to have a split-axis problem.
GPL supports split axis.
But you have to switch split axis on also in your controller settings (or switch
combined pedals off).

Not sure how to do this--I looked through the stuff with GPL, there is no
way I can find to enable split axis support. Also, nowhere I can find to
change anything in the controller settings...perhaps I cannot do that with
my wheel/pedal combo.
