Nascar2 & Soundblaster 64 AWE please help

by Nick Schrege » Sat, 04 Apr 1998 04:00:00

Hi there,
since I got the new Soundcard I can't seem to setup Nascar 2 properly.
Whenever I try to make an automatic detection in the Setup program, it
hangs. When I try to alter the values manually, it won't work. Is there a
new driver for the AWE 64?
Thanks in advance!

<<Is there a new driver for the AWE 64?>>

I've never had this problem, however there is a new SB16/32/64 driver
that has been released on 3/31. Regardless, it can't hurt to try it.

have you installed n2 on your system before the sound card? if so try reloading
n2, if you have custom cars.files it shouldnt overwrite them if that doesnt
work post what type of puter you have i.e. cyryx cpu pent. etc.

I had a similar problem w/SB16.  Win95 assigned my SB IRQ to 11, I had to
manually change to IRQ5 then all worked.  You might look at these values on
your system and change as necessary.

A friend of mine has AWE 64 too and the only way to get games
to recognize it is to play in Win95 !!
Sadly  this is the only alternative ....
you might want to try it too...

this is a 4 step fix
a. delete the sound.cfg file in your nascar2 directory
b. look in device manager for your audio card properties
c. manually config your sound card
d. Race
