Awe 64 and Win95 games

Just a note to anyone interested.  Last week I installed an Awe 64 in my
200 mhz
P5 with 32 meg ram....Total 3D video card.....I was replacing a 4 year old
SB16 with
Roland daughterboard....I'm not quite sure why, but since then my Windows
game performance
has seriously improved.  The games Pod, I76, USNF97 and NFS2 all run
great.....they always
worked but frame rates were a bit sluggish...(no hard data here....just an
educated observation)
Perhaps the latest SB drivers....or perhaps the board is better able to
handle the DirectX drivers.
Whatever....As a side note...the AWE 64 is cleaner and brighter sounding
than the SB16 and
the Midi performance for games that use it such as Comanche 3 is
outstanding. So if you're
thinking of an upgrade, check it out.
