MCO Problem Help?

Spent a few days downloading the MCO beta thingy, and am now trying to get
it to work, but when I run the beta and try to connect to the Update server
it just comes back with 'Connection Lost' every time. Ive been connecting
while the server is up but no joy. Is it just a case of a busy server?

You might want to try connecting outside of the game server hours (10am
PST - 10pm PST). From what I've experienced, the patch server runs all the
time, not just when MCO is up. Since the system is less crowded at that
time, this should let you get through any patching process more easily.
After it finishes patching and tries to connect to the game server, just
cancel and you'll be ready to go for next time.

BTW, if you were trying this last night (Tuesday) it was during their beta
night give-away, so there were tons of people on (2000+) which did a real
stress test - brought down the servers twice, caused in-game errors, etc.
Ah, the joys of beta testing... <grin>

Tried that as well, still the same. It connects for about 5 seconds and then
says connection lost. Thats all its done. Is there something wrong with my
version?

To the best of my knowledge, others have used the same D/L version and
connected. So I've kinda reached the end of my very limited troubleshooting
expertise. <grin> My only other suggestion is to go to the Message Boards on
the MCO Beta site (which seem to be down at the moment) and check the
threads about installation of the D/L and connection problems. You use your
same EA.Com name & password to log into the forums. There are a number of
threads about these issues, but I haven't read them in any detail. Sorry I
can't be of more help...
