Are the new ppro motherboards upgradeable???

by Dave » Sat, 09 Nov 1996 04:00:00

Can anyone tell me for sure if the new ppro motherboards are going to be
upgradeable.. ive heard they are but im not really sure... im looking into
the AP440 FX motherboard with the 82440FX natoma chip set.... (Seems to me,
that is if anyone knows anything about this perticular board, that this
board supports some usless stuff.. or at least i dont quite think i
understand exactally what it supports). This board has something called
crystal audio codec. What the hell is that anyway????It also says it
intergrates an s3 v+ or s3 virge grapics cotroller onboard???? whats that
all about??? does anyone know?   Also it says it has a type 8 zero
insertion force zip socket to house the standard processor, and provides an
upgrade path to the future pentium pro overdrive processors??????  does
this mean it's mmx upgradeable???  Can someone help me out???

I found this information at the intel web site by the way.!.
