Yep, that'll really encourage other manufacturers to come visit us
here on r.a.s. - I doubt MPS will feel much like sticking around
either.

Cheers!

On the cover of the finnish box it says "modeemi- ja
verkkopelimahdollisuus" which quite obviously means "Modem and Network play
capability".

The cover that i got was the UK version.
looks like MPS did not inform the rest of the offices... looks like the
communication inside of MPS works
bad as well!!!

The multi-player refers to the shared race capability. 2 people or more can
take the controls for X laps each on the one computer

By the way: We are now in 1997! I think for a game like F1GP2 a
Network-support
should be "STANDARD"! I like the game, but when we play (two P-133s) via
MoDem, I have to switch to VGA and switch MANY details OFF! Thats NOT
what I call a game of the late 90s, do you? Even in SVGA I can only play
(with full details) at 12 FPs...GREAT.....this sucks! The programmers
should take
a look at NASCAR 2, or even at NASCAR 1....

IF they are able to program a Null-MoDem and MoDem support, they are able
to program a IPX network support AS WELL!

RIGHT ! But 16 or more players at ONE PC is maybe what MPS calls
MULTI-PLAYER !!???! BTW: WHO USES THIS???

..once upon a time MPS programmed F1GP (Part one). As soon as they
programmed a Null-Modem/MoDem Update, I found this one in my LETTERBOX!

( Did not get any answer, btw). One morning it was in my letterbox.
Yes, good old days...where are they gone?

I have the UK version and it DOES NOT say anything on the box about
network play.

It mentions  multi-player capabilities and link and modem capabilities,
which the game does indeed have.

Theres nothing like sensible debate is there!!!!!

With people like this *** on R.A.S, its no wonder some companies prefer
not to take part.

We should be encouraging dialogue between ourselves and the
manufacturers/designers of these sims, not flaming them at every
opportunity.

Constructive criticism is whats called for, not abuse.

I hope the persons responsible for producing the sims we love (and hate)
so much, realise that Mr FU Bill and others like him are only a minority
in this newsgroup. Most of us would prefer to actively take part in
sensible discussions with them, in order to help development of further,
newer, better sims for the future.

ok mark, If you are still in high school and are thinking about taking
the SAT test soon I have a little practice for you.  Its easy, just pick
the one that dosen't fit

A) Eidos makes Tomb Rader and it sells well so they make a Rendition and
a 3DFX patch for it.

B) Psygnosis makes F1 and it sells well so when the PC version comes out
it will have Rendition and 3DFX support

C) ID makes Quake and it sells well so they make patches for Rendition
and 3DFX

D) Interplay makes Descent and it sells well so they make patches for
Rendition and 3DFX

E) Microprose makes GP2 and it sells well but they still don't support
their product with a Rendition or 3DFX patch

I'll post the answer in a couple of days if you can't figure it out

properly.......

Absolutely agree.

Psygnosis F1 is about to be put on this PC and guess which sim gets
dumped?? GP2 was probably the last Microprose product I buy. I'm not into
hacking/pirating etc but I echo someone else's comments that if a GP3 or
whatever did ever come out I wouldn't feel guilty getting it 'on the
cheap'. No response from their email at tech support, that poor guy from
Microprose trying to respond to the questions here and not aware of what
his own people had said, and no support for patches, upgrades etc. VERY
POOR SHOW MICROPROSE.
