Hi Rick,

When my friend tries to load the icr2 demo it loads fine
until he attempts to load the Laguna track. Then he gets a
message that says, "insufficient memory to load track", but he
can continue and load Michigan no problem. What gives??
His system is a Dell XPS P90 with 8 meg ram. He has 591
conventional and 7 meg extended.
My system is the exact same except I have 24 meg ram and am
running under Win95. I can run the complete demo from win95 (no
ms-dos mode) or boot into a dos mode with 576k conventional and
still run Laguna with no problem.
Maybe I'm wrong but this leads me to believe the problem is
not with his conventional mem, but I can't believe the laguna
data needs over 8 megs total to run.
Can you help me out on this? We both want to get the full
version so we can compete via modem and I have high hopes of
smokin' his nascar ass at Laguna with my Indycar. Thank for any
info Rick.
  BTW, killer program!!
                                         Later...
                                            Sandman

Make sure your friend uses a cold boot, ie do not load any memory
managers.  Thats probably whats going on.  You don't get the error because
you have 24 megs, but your friend has 8, the minimum for SVGA.

Laguna is tight on an 8MB system. Try running with the UniVBE driver; it
will use the video card's memory for offscreen storage and will actually
free up more main memory for the game.
