Determining sound card in Win 95

by Kyle Langst » Mon, 30 Dec 1996 04:00:00

I recently bought a new computer and successfully configured NASCAR 1
to run in MS-DOS mode.  However, I cannot get all the sounds to work,
particularly Ned Jarrett's voice at the beginning, the music during
the intro, and the sounds of collision on the tracks.  I believe it is
a problem with the MIDI portion of the sound setup.  Problem is, I
only know the computer is equipped with a Yamaha sound system.  Is
their a FAQ that explains (or could someone just tell me) how to 1)
Run NASCAR completely in Win 95 or 2) Determine which sound system I
have so I can hear ALL the sounds when running in MS-DOS mode?

Have you insured that you have all the sounds enabled in the NASCAR Racing
1 options?  I am surprised that if you had a card configuration that only
some sounds would be effected.
