NASCAR2...Huge Disappointment!!!(2D NOT 3D & FM QUALITY SOUND)

by zig » Sat, 21 Dec 1996 04:00:00

Believe me, I've tried every config possible, as well as making sure
my sound card was in proper working order and had the most recent
drivers.  One test that proves theres nothing wrong with it is when I
play N2 (listen to the engine that sounds like a swarm of bee's)  exit
and load N1 to hear the rumble/girgle of the very realistic sound of
the N1 engine which you can actually feel the rumble and watch the
furniture shake!!! I use the same sound card config for both N1 & N2.
N2 produces no bass.  I'm sure that a lot of people (anyone w/out a
subwoofer or high quality speaker system) wouldn't notice the
difference between the two simply because they havn't heard the sound
N1 produces to it's full potential.

I had the same problem with mine.  The problem is that the sound level
was too low on mine.  I have an AWE32 and here's how I solved it.  I had
to turn the volume all the way up in Win95, then when I get in the game,
I turn the speakers up to about 3/4.  Be careful though when exiting,
because Win95 will be REAL loud.

Actually I have no problem with the actual volume of the sound, it's
the QUALITY.......it's horrible - theres no bass.
