I'd never heard of them either, but then I've only been online 3 years.
After putting their names into Google, it appears that Gerhard Lingenberg
did a lot of editing of the original NASCAR sim if the US Pits archive at
http://www.racesimcentral.net/;Neil
Jedrzejewski also has some stuff in that archive.

Thanks... didn't know that.  This might explain the story then, or maybe
not.  It's a shame that the rumor to substance ratio is so high with this
project.

Ned was one of the co-founders of theuspits.com.  He, I beleive, was the
guy who figured out how to enable all the stuff that was turned off in the
ICR2 demo.  from that came all the mods and updates etc from the Pits.
Gerhard was a private user ICR2 code-weasel.  He produced such things as the
ability to race 40 car fields in ICR2 and other carsets etc.

Thanks Dave... was too deep into GP2 at the time to have learned about them.

Very, *very* effing funny, David!  I'd love to have that framed in my Racing
Bay.

Gerhard was a bit before my time really, but "Jed"......

Oh man, seeing the mails that went back and forth between Jan (Kohl) and
"Jed" when they made the original TPTCC patch was amazing :-),
personally I consider "Jed"'s decision to leave the sim racing community
to be one our greatest losses, not that there aren't plenty of great
people around today making all sorts of neat stuff, but every so often
there is one person standing out from the crowd a bit

But alas, the last time I heard from him he was the single IT person in
a PR/Advertizing (or something) office, some 15 employees or something,
all girls mind you, in Sweden, unfortunately for him, one of them is his
fianc :-), oh well, you can't have everything

Beers and cheers

As in Vivendi Universal, parent company of Universal Studios, Universal
Music, Universal Publishing, the Canal+ Group, Vivendi Telecom, Cegetel,
and the USA Network? That's pretty impressive...
