Yeah, because there is no demand for NASCAR around the world.  If they would
simply change their mentality (towards non-US buyers, which are still in
much greater number then in the US), they would understand that the demand
is there, and screaming for serious non-NASCAR simulations.  But they are
kept in their United States of America vision, that only those people are
worthly of having a serious simulation of their kind of motorsport.

Yeah that's my point.  If they would shoot at the second pie, they would
know that their part is much much bigger and (also) sweeter.  ;)

Papy's next game?

I'd like to see the comparative sales numbers for that.

Not arguing, but being serious.  I'd like to see the sales numbers comparing
the F1 sims to the Nascar sims.

Titles on shelves does not equate to any sort of demand....you ever see how poorly the
marketing/sales depts. work at most companies?  The big problem is that us race simmers thing we
make up a large percentage of the pc *** title market, we don't even rate a drop in the bucket.

Yeah you're right Mike.  But there are quite a few NASCAR games out already
also no?  NASCAR doesn't seem pickup in who they license, considering the
number of bad titles throughout the years that had their name sticked on the
box.  ;)  :(

GP2, GP3 are multi-million sale softwares just per example.  Ubisoft have
also sold more then a million copy of F1RS and MGPRS2.

Was it originally released there or did importers bring it in from the
countries that had distribution rights??  Just curious.
I guess a better way to ask would be to say, was it localized for language
etc or did you just resell a German box?

Well, I think it was actually inported, as are most of the games here in
Finland. Only mainstream games have those awful (or, lately, not anymore so
awful) localized manuals.

There was a European version of N4, it was only imported to Norway
because I asked them to get me a few copies for myself and a couple of
friends, well, calling Matt and Ed from GPLEA friends is probably not a
proper use of the term but I feel generous tonight, I know they brought
over some more copies and persuaded other stores to carry it as well as
I've later seen it in other stores, which probably wouldn't have
happened if it wasn't for 3 hardened sim racing enthusiasts who knew one
of the guys who works for Sierra's Norwegian distributor.......Papy
should pay me some sort of commission methinks

They don't need to announce because everyone _knows_ what it will be.

NR2003.

They had better damned site fix the AI in this one.  The AI has degraded
slowly since Nascar Racing 3 to the point where it's nearly impossible to
race with them now.  They just continually run you right off the race track.

It's like racing with 21 clones of Mike Skinner and 21 clones of Robbie
Gordon all mixed up around you with the agression switch set to high.

One has to wonder if they haven't lost the programmer talent they once had
concerning AI programming.

The problem is, it's not improving where it counts.

Yeah, the cars are prettier.  Yeah, we get to listen to Darrell explain the
tracks to us, but that's not what is important.

The damage model is canned as all get out.  There STILL isn't progressive
repairs after all these years.  The AI is now completely brain dead, and
their only goal is to run you off the track somehow.

Those are the things that, IMHO, are degrading, not improving, and they need
to be fixed.

We're owed a patch in NR2002 for this, but I doubt we ever get it.  They
have our money by now, and will just wait until the next time the collection
plate is passed.

I beleive somebody here already posted that no more patching is
forthcomming for N2k2.  They have no budget for such work.  Notice I didn't
say they have no MONEY for such work, but rather no BUDGETED FUNDS.
