Laguna or Brands: I've driven both in GPL so I hope I don't have too
much track learning to do. Have you checked that there is a pit crew
that isn't in the midst of a labour dispute? <g>

Are you guys using RAS TeamSpeak for these races ?

I'd lilke to run some of these, but I have to be honest.  I'm a total
bonehead when it comes to understanding EA's SIMS, and F1C is no different
:)

I might try this weekend but I might need help on TeamSpeak.

What kind of setups are being used ?

Are all the tracks included with the ETCC Mod ?

Yes, some of us use Teamspeak (on the RASCAR server). Unfortunately,
we _all_ think that we have no accents, and we each refuse to
understand the thick accents used by everyone else. There's a lot of
"Say what?" and "Pardon?" going on. <VBG>

There are a fair number of tracks that you have to get as separate
downloads. Only the F1 tracks used in the time period of the original
game -- F1C -- come included. So Leguna Seca, Bathurst, Le Mans and a
bunch more have to be obtained on your own. I'm having a senior
moment right now regarding where _I_ got Laguna from, but here is a
site that has a lot of ETCC tracks -- although not LS:
        http://hsw.hu/etcc03tracks/etcc.htm

I just started with the default settings and played a bit with the
brake bias and the gears to get the setup I'm using. There are a
number of setups available with the tracks that come with the mod,
and you might find using one of those as a base would work. (I used
to that all the time in GPL.)

BTW, if you are faster than about 1:40, you are obviously using
gearing that is too high. You need to lower your gears until you are
able to redline in 6th between the hair pin at the end of the start
straight and the first right-hander (T3?). If you're still too fast
for me, then you need to move brake bias to 100% front.

Just trying to be helpful. <grin>

BTW, you can get most -- if not all -- the tracks from F1RST. Just
Host an ETCC race, then select the track you want. If you select a
track that you don't have, the server will offer to install it for
you. Cancel the race once the track has been downloaded.

Now I remember why I never downloaded this before...  The status window says it
will take 1 hour 47 minutes(and climbing) to finish... :-(
I should have started last week - it might have been done by now.

Hi Larry,

Step 1 - download F1RST - kinda like VROC
Step 2 - Try to host a game at Laguna - it will then download that track for
you
Step 3 - decide what car to drive - oversimplification is that FWD is more
predictable but eats tyres
Step 4 - see if any of the regulars are running that car and they'll give
you a setup
Step 5 - bring bucket and spade on Sunday ;)
