(Oop.  Forgot to change the header.  I doubt that people would have
read it the first time as it was in the middle of an IRL flamewar.)

You know, I always though that something like this would be very neat
to have in a game.  I'd like to see a game where you can work your way
up various racing series and/or within a series.  For instance, in a
F1 game you can change teams between seasons based on how well you are
doing.  Of course, this would be very hard, if not impossible to do
for a licensed game.

The other problem, if you have multiple series, you'll have to have
different gameplay and physics for each series.  Considering the
amount people *** and moan about game physics here for one game
(unless it's GPL of course), they are bound to have a field day on a
game with multiple cars.

So anyway, are there any games out there with something of a career
mode? So far I can think of:

Dirt Track Racing
SCGT
24 Hours of Lemans

Of course, those are all released within the past couple years. Any
others?

They made one as an external program to run with Monaco GPRS2, I recall. You
had to tell the prog your lap times, finish, how often/if you crashed, etc,
and it worked it all out. Of course, you could cheat and tell it you won
every race, but where would be the fun in that?
Only a guess, but perhaps the Unofficial still has it.

Eeeer no change in physics...   just like GPL, u just model different power,
grip, and also cover different downforce and weight..

Oop.  You're right, bad choice of words.
