After the 1.1. patch was released, I installed GPL on a NT4.0 system
with a Voodoo2 and a SB Live Value. The V2 worked, but the SB did not,
so I deleted GPL again, as it was pointless on that machine without
sound and joystick.
After the new Liveware 3.0 drivers were released, I checked the SB
Live again: still does not work on that machine under NT, but under
Win98 (where the network card does not work).
So I replaced the SB Live with an old 16bit ISA soundcard: ordinary
WAV and MIDI sounds can be heard now under NT, fine.
I installed GPL again, but the engine sound is terribly distorted.
Changing the sound quality in the app.ini does not help.
Plus when I switch from software graphics to 3dfx, it says that
"redline.dll" is not found in the path, or "verite.dll"
I got a Rendition based card on another machine, so I know about
these. I even downloaded drivers from Rendition, and copied the files
in the GPL folder. Does not help, of course.
But why does GPL ask for a Rendition driver it is supposed to run via
the Voodoo2?
I've checked the "lastRasterizerDLL" in the "app.ini", and it says
either "softdll.dll" or "rast3dfx.dll".
