learn to speak German. Thanks for the reply.

I have not seen anything on GTR's site about release dates,
and I only find a few German versions for sale on Ebay. Anybody
got info? Thanks.

Early in 05 is the scheduled date.  Whether that holds up is anybody's
guess.

Get a copy off Ebay. There are English translation patches and an english
pitradio patch at m4driving.it. This sim is awesome! You don't know what
your missing!

Im still trying to work out why they would release it to a smaller
group(german speaking) rather than most ppl(english speaking),maybe to test
the water and see how it was recieved with a smaller release first?
who knows
still*** to get a copy!

Its so much fun to be Beta-Tester for GTR!!!
Still waiting for the Join-Lag Patch. If they can work this problem out, its
a great game.

Same thing with RBR.
I guess the european side of the world decided the market wasn't worth it
after what Bush did. ;-)

I hope it's better than the demo.

I think it is.  I almost didn't buy it because of the demo.

The demo is either A) an early press release intended NOT for the public
but ...'The Press' That was the version released several months ago.
or B) an arcade demo intended for magazine distribution.  The physics from
the first demo were already 2 generations old by the time that was
released.
The magazine demo did not even include the simulation level.  So far the
biggest complaint I have heard is the lag incurred when a new player joins
in mulitplayer...a problem that has been with ISI based sims since 2000.  I
find it a little odd that so many people seem taken aback by that lag since
it has been known for years.   ISI with it's newest version of the Motor
engine have overcome the join-lag by introducing a pretextured car.  It
would seem logical that SBDT will be able to incorparate that feature in
their v1 of Motor in GTR.
That being said...(to the original naysayer in this thread)what was in
the demo that so disillusioned you?

Lousy graphics, sound, mediocre physics engine...

Yep, one of those words that looks a bit weird for some reason!

ok,  compared to the glitzy Need for Speed type engines it might look
mousey.  And the sound?  They supposedly sampled each and every engine
while at the tracks.  Compared to F1c, that should be a positive, so I
guess compared to some of the add-on soundpacks for Nr2k3 it might sound
lightweight.  And physics...we covered that...the real sim, although I
don't have it yet, (not a German) should have at least updated physics.
If, however, you don't like the feel of ISI stuff, then even the full
product may not be to your liking.  Have you tried the Rfactor multiplayer
demo?  If so, how does that compare with your impression of the GTR demo?
