I have exactly the same problem with Screamer2-3dfx version.
Booting to pure DOS mode, setup starts up dos4gw and everything works
properly i.e. joystick calibrates properly and sound is good (A220 I5 D1)
On starting the game the two opening screens are missed out (red and white
*** Interactive screen and "Milestone presents" screen) and the game goes
straight to player initials screen, this is where the game hangs the PC.
Strangely the midi music continues to play but the program wont take any input
from joystick or keyboard.
If one selects keyboard controls in the setup program the the game runs ok.
It would appear that there is a fault is in the programming of the 3dfx version
which manifests itself on some machines, if anybody knows how to get around these
problems I'd love to know but until then I'm not going to purchase Screamer Rally
as I suspect it will behave just the same :-(
