I've tried everything from end tasking on all open programs to
tweaking my video card and defragging my hard drive to keep Viper
racing from stuttering while playing.  I was wondering if anybody out
there has a fix for this?  I'm running a Dell 266D (upgraded to
Celeron 733) and am using a Radeon 32mb SDR PCI vid. card.  I've got
224mb of ram so I should have plenty of oomph to run this game.  I
have in stalled the 1.1 patch and still no help.  Thanks in advance.

Never mind, it was my joystick.  I downloaded and installed new ctrl
software/drivers for my Sidewinder Precision Pro and everything works
fine.  What a fiasco!  Tech support couldn't even nail this one down.
I was on the phone with them 5 times and even asked if my joystick
could be the culprit.  Just goes to show, don't ever count anything
out.
