Pardon my ignorence, but what exactly is the difference, in price and
performance, between the T1 vs. the T2?

Thanks

I originally purchased the T1, but had to take it back when the bearings in the steering wheel
failed. As they had no T1s in stock, they very kindly exchanged it for a T2. The steering
console looks identical, although it feels firmer and more responsive. This, however. may be
because my original T1 was duff. The pedal box is also subtly different, in so far as the
rollers atop the pedals have been changed to flat pivoting plates. This feels much better to
use, and stops you lacerating your foot when it rolled off the rollers on the T1.

Basically, I think its the same kit. I can't remember price details, but if the T2 is anymore
than (pounds-sterling)10 or so more expensive, I personally would be happy to stick with the T1.
It is still essential kit.

Hope this was of help, e-mail me if you need more details.

I can't speak for the internals (mechanical and electronic), but the
main differences are the steering wheel, which is thicker and more
"racing-car-like" and the pedals.  The T-1 didn't have "pedals", so to
speak, they were hinged roller things.  The T-2 has car-like pedals on
a fairly stable base (although I've mounted my pedal unit on a plank for
added stability).  I believe the T-2 has improved the clamps on the
steering console, too, and they made minor improvements to the stick
shift.

Price-wise....I don't know if you can still buy a T-1, other than a used
one, or old stock.

I'm pretty happy with my T-2...I'd (probably) rather have an ECC or a
TSW, but they cost too damn much for me...  :)

I just bought a T2 from ComputerExpress in MA.  Price was $99,
cheapest I've seen and it was one of the only places that had one. The
pedals work like a VW Beetle, but are stiff and sturdy.  The 10"
padded wheel is also stiffer and better feeling than the T1.  I find
the T2 to be a major improvement over a joystick, moreso in the
Papyrus Games than NFS.
