I've heard of an alternate pot that a switch will use instead of the
normal gas.

This way you adjust it to some value that won't cause you to break the
speed limit.

However simply turning on the autobrake while entering the pits, or
while waiting in the pits will limit your exit speed to the 80mph.

As soon as you leave the pit exit (i.e. your car begins to accelerate
beyond the 80mph limit) simply hit alt-b to turn off the autobrake for
racing.

alt-b turns it on and off at any time.
alt-h turns on and off the auto-shifting at anytime.

Yeah sure, just hit alt (or is it ctrl?) b. At any time during the sim you
can toggle the auto brakes and shifting. After (or during) your pit (there
really is no reason to have a "pit speed limiter" before you stop, as your
pit is the first one) switch the toggle on, then just after pit wall exit
or on somewhere in the warmup lane just toggle auto brakes off.

I have never seen this posed in this ng before, so here goes.  Does
anyone know if someone has developed an applet that would allow you to
have one of those nifty little pit speed limiting buttons, just like
the big boys.  I know if you enable the automatic braking that it will
limit top speed in the pits, but who wants the auto braking to
interfere with the actual racing?  Is there a way to switch on this
feater only when you are in the pits?

Al Jr. fan.

Thanks Jake, the ALT-B works great.  I turn it on while pitting and
turn it off at the end of pit lane.  This is exactly what I was
looking for!  Thanks again!

I do that all the time. When I'm entering the pits, I just hit alt/b
and turn on the auto brakes. the car never goes above 80mph. When I'm
leaving the pits,I hit the alt/b as soon as I cross the line.
