Bizarre problem calibrating wheel

by Kevin Anderso » Fri, 18 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Let me give some background. I had a T2 hooked up and everything was fine. I
order Force RS. That worked fine , then bam all of a sudden the wheel was no
longer center. It was turned 3/4 left. Since that wheel automatically
calibrates, there was nothing I could do. I called tech. He was very helpful
and assumed the Pot was no good. They sent a replacement wheel ou the next
day. But I am wondering if that even was the problem. I have reloaded
DirectX7.0a, unistalled all traces of Act labs drivers. Now when I install
My T2 and try and calibrate it in Windows. I notice that after calibrating
the "cross hairs" in the "test" tab are 3/4 towards the right. If I turn my
wheel to put the cross hairs into the middle, My wheeel is now turned
exactly the direction the Act labs wheel was auto centering itself to. The
difference is In games after I calibrated in game The T2 works fine but I
guess the Act Labs still used the Windows calibration. Because. I noticed
all this beacause of the new SBK2000 demo. there is no calibration in game.
and my wheel is off to left.

HOw do I get fix this.

One more thing, I had Act labs hooked up to USB and T2 is in game port. So I
don't think it has anything to do with Sound card. Unless USB is related to
Sound Card. I assume it isn't.

Do you have both wheels hooked up at the same time?  You might want
to try removing the t2 and verify if that improves your AL's
calibration\good luck
