Given Eurosports sporadic, unpredictable coverage of NASCAR, I thought
it might be appreciated by it's Euro fans with access to Astra that
the Michigan race is scheduled to be shown this Sunday live at 6pm.

I post this mainly cause I missed all but the last five laps of Dover
in Speedworld on Monday and maybe this warning might help others.

Of course, you'll have to miss the Canadian GP to watch it, but given
the amount of breaks in Eurosport's coverage I should be able to see
about two thirds of Canada by channel hopping :-(

Yeah I agree, Come on EUROSPORT Let's have better coverage and more info
on when it's on, And please stop showing highlights of some races, as it
pisses me off when you take out 150 laps and put the whole race into a
hour long program.

Gary, I find the best way to scan for NASCAR coverage is to buy (or
look at in Smith's etc.. ;)) the magazine "AutoSport". As well as
having NASCAR reports and news, it has a Motorsport listings strip on
the letters page (I think.) Using this I was able to alert my friend
who has Eurosport to the Pocono highlights at 8pm Friday night UK
time. I believe they do state what are the contents of Speedworld and
not just "Speedworld".

I'm sorry you missed the Dover race. :( But they only had around an
hours worth of highlights if that's any consolation.

AFAIK The Eurosport breaks mirror the breaks that the network (CBS,
ESPN, TNN etc..) put on. Although I believe at times, namely Texas,
the US network cut to a break, but Europsort didn't, leaving us on the
300metre away from track - in the air type angle :) while the
Eurosport guy filled us in on what was going on. (Being Texas though,
i'm not sure he had a clue what was happening out there. <g>)
My friend is considering "riggin-up" two TV's in one room to watch the
GP as well. But then there's always the highlights programs....

Maybe between us we can make sure all European Sim-racers, who have a
strong or passing interest in the real thing, are notified when the
NASCAR coverage is, via this group??

Hope you can sort things out and happy watching!

Actually, I think Eurosport have less breaks than the production
channel, as on occasion the US commentary is handed over to Eurosport's
commentary team while the US channel takes a break.

Or the times when we can hear what the US commentators are saying to each
other whilst they believe that they are off-air. LOL!

Same channel, different sport:

I WISH they would bring back the US commentary for Indycar, oops, CART.
No offense to Mr. Edwards, but the original is the original.
Additionally
they very often***up the switch to the US sound while interviews.
