Just saw this so I don't know if it has been posted yet

Midway Games and CART Licensed Products announced today a multi-year
licensing agreement that will add CART racing games to Midways line-
up. The agreement gives Midway exclusive rights to publish CART racing
games for all major video game platforms. The Midway CART games will
include a combination of replica and fantasy CART tracks, incorporating
CART teams and drivers.

Oh please don't tell me this deal means no one else can make a CART
game/sim for the next 4 years!
The exclusive word sounds very scary... I just don't have any faith in
Midway Games (who are they anyway?) to produce any good sims, and the
thought of no CART sim for four more years sounds terrible! A sad day if
this is so :-(

Well it only means current CART teams and tracks. In theory, Papy could
make a historical Indycar simulation.

By the time they are able to get it out the door, it would be historical.
Who know's, maybe Papy started working on GPL way back in 1967, and just
finished it last year.

Midway are famous originally for pinball machines, then video arcade
games. They'll probably do a great CART arcade racer, but don't expect
anything ***:-(

Toni,

Dream on,it will never happen. If Sierra didn't think at a modern day
Cart sim would sell, there is absolutely no way they would ever consider
doing a legends of Indy or Cart.
