A few days with an RS Shifter...

Got it on Monday, haven't had -that- much time to use it, but I gotta say...

AWESOME!!!

Got my full on stick shift and cobbled together clutch and the increase in
immersion factor is huge.  Having to blip your own throttle on downchanges
in GPL rather that have the computer do a semi-auto-perfect-every-time job
is fab.

Only time will tell as to it's durability, but so far it's the best 80
upgrade I've bought.  Fantastic.  If you're serious about GPL/N2K2 you've
owe it to yourself to try one.  Really.  I'm ecstatic, overjoyed with this
purchase.  I am in no way affiliated with Act-Labs, but I'm one damn happy
punter.

And next week my Logitech Momo arrives to replace my trusty old TM F1 Pro.
I hope the pedals aren't as ropey as they look...

Mark, I run a Momo with TM F1 pro pedals and a shifter

Myabe I have just got so used to the pedals but the Momo ones didn't seem as
good.

No clutch though.

Not a problem, Mark can just leave his TM pedals plugged in and use them
instead. It's not compulsory to use the Momo ones.

Excellent work. I was using it to change my FOV even before I owned a
shifter :o)

This will be my fourth wheel.

I butchered my ancient T2 to make a clutch for for my F1 Pro (they are great
pedals, arent they), and I have a cheapo TM Ferrari wheel for the second PC
for LAN games.  With this Momo I was hoping to relegate the F1 Pro to PC2
and sell the cheap Ferrari wheel to a mate...

All sounds remarkably similar. At least this group make me feel less obsessed!

The TM F1 Pro have a lot more travel (than pretty well everything) and are the
closest I have felt to real pedals. Though I am sure I haven't give enough time
to train myself to use anything else. One day they that compelling sim will come
along that won't support the multiple controller configuration and I will be
forced to. Until then...
