Running 'Dega flat out and losing the draft. I got out of line after working
my way from the back all the way up to 12th (took 39 laps) and started
pushing up the 3rd turn banking, well lo and behold the cars below me hung
me out to dry and refused to let me back in until I had dropped back to 26th
spot, and then some yahoo from the back (Jimmy Spencer) gave me the chrome
horn, he took the air off my spoiler and sent me spinning down the front
stretch.

I wish I'd a saved the reply, it was eery. It was so similar to the
restrictor plate racing that you watch on TV.  It's really cool how the cars
bounce around and pitch  in NASREV. It beats the hell out of the staid and
static car physics in NR99.

Of course I have to run the game in front bumpercam view in order to feel
like I'm going fast at all. For some reason when I run direct3d mode the
***pit view starts the race looking really good and gets worse as the race
go's on.

I've got another Voodoo II on the way to SLI and hoping this helps.

I wonder if anyone is interested in painting cars for NASCAR Revolution?

I don't need a flame from ymenard or any of you "hard-core simmers". Jeez,
what a joke. You guys would shit your diapers if you every got in a real
stock car over 120mph. You'd also have to admit that the view in NASREV is
an exponential jump in realism compared to the***pit view in NR99. (That
is IF you'd ever actulally been in or raced a Winston Cup car)  But, damn
your good in  front of that monitor!

Hey no flame here. I just wanted to point out that someone would
actually have to keep the game in order to be interested in painting
the cars. And don't let that ymenard guy give you any crap, he is
totally mental.

So I take it that you have driven a Winston Cup car and are here reporting
on it for us. Right?

I guess that I would be considered a "hard-core simmer" as I race everyday and
participate in a few racing leagues.

Funny, when I was at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in April of 1998 at the Richard
Petty Driving Experience, I didn't do that. I drove the #43 STP car, that Bobby
Hamilton drove in 1997. I had a top speed of 153.4 mph and turned a lap at
127.3 mph and still have the printouts that they gave at the conclusion of the
session.

Been in and drove one, but never raced one but still came out with clean
underpants.

I explain the simple and canned effects of the Ubisoft game engine, and you
feel totally pissed off because of the reality of the situation I explained
to you know.  I also explained how it can't even model the camber or
banking, yet you reply with such immature comments.

If there's a car paintkit for it, I will gladly paint cars for it and post them
on a website. Would be interesting to see my cars in N-Rev's graphics.

Why do you feel you have to mention this? I have no problem with you personally.
I don't like N-Rev, and when some people come on here and say its a complicated
high tech hard-core simulation, I get frustrated. Comments like the one you just
made does nothing but agitate people. If you don't wanna be flamed, stop making
it sound like simmers are freaks. Jeez.

Have you ever been in a stock car at over 120mph youself? Are you saying that
you would be better prepared than anyone else? Nice try...

Sure, if you like slow FPS and can't see the tachometer.

And let me guess, you've raced a Winston Cup car?

It is nice to know that I am not the only one here to see that this game has
definite potential.  The way the cars bob and weave, the way they fight with
you, the graphics, the sounds, there is a lot that was done right to this
game.  Cars aren't afraid to put a nose under you in the corner.  In papys
nascar, you can get in the lead and even if you are a second a lap slower,
you can block or just run the low line in the corners and you will never get
passed.  that wont work in nascar revolution, you'll get your ass knocked in
the wall for it.  I hope that EA reads this newsgroup because they might
realize that if they could just get some hardware performance out of this
game, and maybe tighten up the controls a little, give us better adjustments
on our carsetups, and they would have a real winner here.

Yes, we are, if it concerns racing sims, and as you obviously don't
want to be around geeks, you should just, well, leave?

Yeah, performance would make it great, if they would also:

1.  Make it smart enough to remember your view.
2.  Make it believe YOU are smart enough to do your own pit run.
3.  Make the car adjustments actually do something.
4.  Actually show some car data in the***pit view.  I don't drive my
cars while sitting on the bumper.
5.  Make it QUIT THE DAMNED LAP when you hit the escape key, instead of
forcing you to watch it drive your car for you for 30 seconds.
6.  Give optional installs so it doesn't take 370MB of mandatory hard
drive space.
7.  Let you drive your own pace laps.  It sure can't.  It runs over
everything in site.
8.  Make the car adjustments actually do something.  Oh, I already said
that.  Good.  It needs saying twice.
9.  Get rid of the 'Molassas Mode'.  Wait, that's the whole game...

And about 20 other things I can think of right now.

NasRev is the biggest ripoff in racing history.

I've been in a 1967 GTO at 133MPH.

At least that's what the Cop said :)
